The victim was arrested on June 19, 2025, in Alexandria and subjected to enforced disappearance for three days until noon on June 22, 2025, at the Supreme State Security Prosecution. He was investigated on charges of joining a terrorist group.

The victim, a lawyer and the legal representative of the Tenants' Defense Association, was arrested while on his way to participate in the association's founding meeting, based on his opposition to the provisions of the draft amendment to the old rent laws.
