The victim, 29 years old, graduated from an industrial technical institute, and works in the freelance sector, was subjected to enforced disappearance after the Egyptian security forces forcibly arrested him on the morning of February 11, 2019. He has not been brought before any of the investigating authorities until now.

Eyewitnesses confirmed that while he was riding a taxi from his residence in the village of Al-Salam, Al-Khatt Al-Wastani, Kafr El-Dawar Center, Beheira Governorate, he was detained by a security assistant who handed him over to one of the checkpoints on the road, and asked the microbus driver to stop in front of the checkpoint, indicating to the checkpoint personnel that the victim was a wanted person, so he was taken to an unknown location. Since then, he has not appeared or been brought before any of the investigating authorities.

The victim had previously been arrested in 2014, and spent a year in prison pending a case before obtaining a verdict of acquittal and release.
