The victim was arrested on May 18, 2017 from a security ambush on the Cairo-Minya Road. He was a major in the armed forces, but he was referred to retirement in October 2015 due to a serious eye disease.

The victim has been subjected to enforced disappearance since the date of his arrest until now without being brought before any investigating body.
