The victim was arrested on September 16, 2024, and taken to an unknown destination, and has not been presented to any investigating authority yet.
The victim, a journalist and member of the Journalists Syndicate, who works for “Al-Diyar” newspaper, was previously arrested on December 20, 2017 after security forces stormed his home in the Dokki area in Giza Governorate, where he disappeared for three days before appearing before the Supreme State Security Prosecution in the Fifth Settlement on December 23.
He was investigated and imprisoned for the first time in Case No. 977 of 2017, State Supreme Security, known in the media as “Makamleen 2,” on charges related to joining a group established in violation of the law and spreading false news.
In December 2019, the Supreme State Security Prosecution decided to release him pending Case No. 977 of 2017. However, instead of implementing his release procedures, he was investigated and imprisoned in another case in Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate, and after a while, he obtained a decision to release him on financial bail. An amount of 5,000 pounds from the Kafr El-Sheikh Prosecution in Case No. 8077 of 2017.
