The victim works as an obstetrician and gynecologist at Al-Shatby Hospital of Alexandria University. She was arrested on March 28, 2020 from her place of work, and forcibly disappeared for two days, to be investigated pending case No. 558 of 2020 before the Supreme State Security Prosecution.

On October 5, the Cairo Criminal Court decided to release the victim pending the case, in which he is accused of joining a group that was established contrary to the provisions of the law and the constitution.
