He was arrested by persons in civilian clothes on January 26, 2019 from Kobri al-Qubba metro station. He was subjected to enforced disappearance for more than eight months, during which he was subjected to various forms of physical and psychological torture. He appeared in the court of Zainhum Al-Ali. The Public Prosecution released him on February 26, 2020, pending case 1413 of 2019 limiting the security of his country. However, he was not released and was subjected to enforced disappearance again on March 1, 2020, for a month until he appeared in a new case in the Abu Tig Public Prosecution Office in Assiut. He was released on 20-05-2020.
