He was arrested on May 21, 2021 from his home, forcibly disappeared for 5 days, and presented to the State Security Prosecution on May 26, 2021, and questioned in Case 238 of 2021 Supreme State Security, and he was charged with joining a terrorist group. So far, no lawyer has been allowed to visit him or attend with him, and he is being renewed administratively. He is currently in Tora Prison. It is noteworthy that he held prominent newspaper positions, including director of the regional office of the Anadolu Agency in Cairo, until he left and retired in 2015.
