The victim was arrested on December 27, 2023 and was subjected to enforced disappearance from that date until he was presented to the investigating authorities on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 in connection with Case No. 80 of 2023, military felonies, on charges of gathering, displaying force, and sabotaging military vehicles.

The victim's arrest came after he called for the forced return of Sinai's displaced people to their areas of residence, which they had been forced to leave years ago. His eldest son, "Youssef," was also arrested earlier in connection with the same case.
