The victim was arrested on December 7, 2021, after security forces stormed her home in Cairo, and was subjected to enforced disappearance for nearly two weeks, during which she was subjected to physical and psychological torture.

The victim was investigated by the Supreme State Security Prosecution on December 20, 2021, in case No. 2976 of 2021. The case was referred to the Criminal Court, and the date of the first trial session has not yet been set.

The victim suffers from difficult health conditions, as she was diagnosed with tumors that require regular doses of chemotherapy that are not available in prison hospitals. In addition, she suffers from a relaxed heart muscle and an irregular heartbeat, which increases her urgent need for specialized medical care.
