While he was on his way from Alexandria to Cairo, he and his wife on February 20, 2015 were arrested on the train until the train arrived in Cairo. He and his wife were escorted to the State Security headquarters in Lazoghly. He was forcibly disappeared for 11 days until he appeared in Borg El Arab prison in Alexandria. During the period of his disappearance, he was subjected to physical torture, electricity and psychological torture. He was put on trial for 5 cases. Case No. 1050 of 2014 First Felonies Tanta,Case No. 1601 of 2014 Second Felonies Tanta,Case No. 11 of 2014 Military Felonies Alexandria, in which he was sentenced to 5 years imprisonment. Case No. 12 of 2014 Alexandria Military Felonies, for which he was sentenced to 7 years in prison. Case No. 2 of 2016 military felonies north of Cairo. It is reported that Dr. Salah went on a hunger strike to protest the poor conditions of detention and medical neglect against him, as he suffers from fractures in the lumbar vertebrae and a fracture in the pelvis, which causes the inability to move. It is reported that he has been transferred to the intensive care unit of Tora Prison Hospital since his hunger strike. He was released with a health pardon on 31/01/2020.
