He was arrested from his home on June 10, 2019 and subjected to enforced disappearance for a period during which he suffered psychological and physical torture until noon on June 27, 2019, in the Public Prosecution Office. He was accused of financing the Brotherhood in connection with Case No. 930 of 2019, known in the media as the "Hope Cell". He suffers from poor health care as he suffers from multiple sclerosis "MS" and is being held in pretrial detention so far in Abu Zaabal Prison.
