The victim (56 years old), a member of the Defense Committee for Detainees in Sharqia, was arrested on May 18, 2021, on his way home with his wife. He was taken to the house, searched, and its contents were destroyed. Mobile phones and data storage disks were confiscated, then taken to the An unknown party.
The victim was forcibly disappeared and tortured using various means inside the National Security branch in Zagazig for more than 30 hours, before being presented to the Supreme State Security Prosecution in the Fifth Settlement on May 20, which decided to detain him in pretrial detention for 15 days, on charges of belonging to a terrorist group and financing its activities.
The accused was referred to trial in connection with the case known in the media as the “New Cairo Terrorist Cell.” On September 12, 2023, the Second Terrorism Circuit of the Cairo Criminal Court decided to postpone Case No. 908 of 2021 Supreme State Security Limited, registered as No. 21122 of 2022, First Nasr City Felony, registered as No. 1375 of the year. 2022 New Cairo College for a session on 10/10/2023 to complete the pleading.
