The victim was arrested on December 18, 2023 from Cairo Airport while completing her travel procedures, and was forcibly disappeared for 5 days until she was investigated before the Supreme State Security Prosecution on December 23.

The victim, among 131 male and female students, was subjected to final arbitrary dismissal from Al-Azhar University, after she was arrested while studying in the first year, Faculty of Commerce, Al-Azhar University on December 30, 2013. She was then investigated in Case No. 7458 of 2013, a second misdemeanor, Nasr City.

She was sentenced in absentia on May 11, 2014 to 4 years in prison, 4 years of probation, and a fine of 30,000 pounds.
