The victim was arrested on March 9, 2019, after security forces stormed her home in Alexandria, and arrested her and her husband at the same time, in addition to their infant child, who was no more than 11 months old at the time.

The victim, her husband, and her child were subjected to enforced disappearance until she appeared before the Supreme State Security Prosecution on February 20, 2021, which decided to detain her for 15 days pending investigations in Case No. 970 of 2020, State Security Prosecutor Alia.

The victim, a lecturer at the Faculty of Science at Tanta University, was placed in Al-Qanater Al-Khairiya Prison for Women, then from there to the New 10th of Ramadan Prison. Her child was also handed over to his mother’s family in February 2021 after he reached 3 years old, while her husband is still being subjected to enforced disappearance.
