The victim works as a merchant, businessman, and owner of the famous Tawheed and Al-Nour chain of stores in Egypt. He was arrested on December 5, 2020. He was brought before the Supreme State Security Prosecution and charged with joining and financing a terrorist group. He remained in pretrial detention until a decision was issued by the Public Prosecution to release him on the 27th. June 2023 after the intervention of the Amnesty Commission.
