The victim died at the Imbaba police station in Giza Governorate on Monday, November 10, 2025.

The deceased had been detained for approximately three weeks in connection with a case involving the trafficking of crystal meth, along with another suspect, and was being held in pretrial detention. However, the poor conditions of his detention, coupled with suspicions of torture and ill-treatment, led to his death in his cell at the station.
