- Summary
On 1 March 2018, at 6:30 p.m. Mr. Ghonim was arrested from his uber at the Al-Harm Circular Road and driven to unknown place. On 4 March 2018, he was accused before the State Security Prosecution under Case no. 441/2018. On the 4th of September 2018, the court decided to release Mr. Ezzat Ghoneim with precautionary measures. Then, he was underwent enforced disappearance for five months and on 9 February 2019 Cairo Criminal Court issued a decision to jail for 45 days pending the same case for allegedly evading the presence of precautionary measures. On 7 May 2019, Mr. Ezzat was granted a release from Case No. 441/2018 but he was charged in a new Case No. 1118/2019 over joining a terrorist group.
