The victim was arrested on July 27, 2013, during the events of “The Platform” during the Rabaa al-Adawiya sit-in. His wife searched for him in official prisons and Central Security camps and performed a genetic fingerprint analysis on the burned bodies that were not identified after the dispersal of the Rabaa al-Adawiya and Nahda sit-ins. It did not match the bodies of the dead.

His wife received information that he was in Al-Azouli Military Prison in Ismailia, and she actually went to attend the sessions of some soldiers who were being tried military in the Galaa Court. She was able to meet one of the soldiers, who told her that they heard the name echoing in their ears, and some of them told her that he was in the investigation department on the third floor of the prison.

The victim’s wife submitted reports to the Public Prosecution under the numbers No. 4690, Beni Suef Prosecution, dated August 26, 2013, and Report No. 10643 of 2014, dated June 11, 2014. This report was sent to the Nasr City Prosecution under No. 919, dated June 16, 2016. She also submitted a complaint to the National Council for Rights. Al-Hussan relied in its report on the response of the Ministry of Interior, which confirmed that the victim “was not informed of his previous arrest by the prosecution, and no legal measures were taken regarding him.”
