He was arrested on January 28, 2018, from an ambush. He was subjected to enforced disappearance for two weeks, during which he was subjected to psychological and physical torture. He was tried in 3 cases: Case No. 61 of 2018, Military Felonies, north of Cairo, Case No. 49 of 2020 East Cairo, and Case No. 10144 of 2021, Misdemeanors of the Red Corner, on charges of possessing a weapon and joining a terrorist group.
