He was arrested on June 10, 2021 from Riyadh airport in Saudi Arabia and was deported to Egypt on the same day and subjected to enforced disappearance for a period during which he was subjected to psychological and physical torture until he appeared in front of the Public Prosecution in connection with the case 911 for the year 2021 to limit the security of his country. It is reported that he is a cancer patient and suffers from poor conditions of detention and denial of health care. He is being held in pretrial detention at Istikbal Tora Prison.
