The victim was arrested on February 6, 2021 and detained in connection with a case in the city of Sharqia. His detention has been renewed since then in connection with the case before the Zagazig Criminal Court.

The victim is a first-year student at the College of Sharia and Law. Since his arrest, he has suffered from a dislocated left shoulder, hemorrhoids, and health problems in his toenails that require surgical interventions.

The victim is being investigated on charges of joining a banned group and promoting contraband, and he is detained at the Zagazig police station.
