The victim died inside the Ain Shams Police Station in Cairo, a few days after his arrest for allegedly stealing a mobile phone.

According to his family, he was forcibly disappeared for three days before being brought before the prosecution, which discovered that what the officer had deemed "secured" was actually his personal phone.

Upon receiving the body, the family was shocked to find horrific signs of torture, including a fractured skull, a lacerated nose, and bruises and wounds covering his entire body.
