The victim died on June 28 at the Badr police station after suffering a heart attack and respiratory distress, according to the Ministry of Interior.

Friends and relatives of the victim asserted that he had been subjected to severe torture while in custody prior to his death. His body bore signs of serious physical trauma, including a laceration on the neck, marks suspected to be from electric shocks on various parts of the body, and other indications of extreme physical violence.
