The victim is a Turkish citizen of Egyptian origin residing in the State of Bahrain. He was arrested there on August 2, 2023, in preparation for his handover to the Egyptian authorities. He was handed over on August 6 to Egypt, and he was not presented to any investigative body.

The victim was convicted in absentia in political cases in Egypt, and he has been legally residing in Bahrain for about 8 years.

Update: He was interrogated on August 16, 2023 before the Supreme State Security Prosecution, after being forcibly disappeared for about 10 days, since his deportation to Egypt.
