The victim was detained in a correctional and rehabilitation center in Wadi El Natroun, where he was denied visits. His family was informed that he had been placed in solitary confinement for a month, starting April 8, 2026. During this period, the family was unable to contact him or ascertain his well-being.

On April 24, 2026, the family received news of his death. During the washing and shrouding of his body, they were shocked to discover severe injuries and physical deformities across his body, including an amputated leg. This raised serious suspicions that the victim had been subjected to grave abuse while in detention before his death.
