On 31 May 2021, Aua Balde participated in a virtual roundtable discussions on Enforced Disappearance in Lebanon Activating the Work of the National Commission for the Missing and Forcibly Disappeared in Lebanon, organised by OHCHR regional office for the Middle East and North Africa. A presentation was devoted to WGEID Support to national commissions in the world and the region: lessons learnt and best practices. 2. On 10 June 2021, Luciano Hazan participated as a speaker in a regional seminar with civil society organizations from Latin America on “Litigation and its impact in the universal system of human rights”, organized by Due Process of Law Foundation and the International Commission of Jurists. 3. On 22 June 2021, Tae-Ung Baik spoke at the UN Human Rights Council online side event, Special Procedures Speaking with One Voice: Human Rights Experts Collective Action and Statements, organized by Fionnuala Ní Aoláin. 4. On 27 July 2021, Luciano Hazan participated in a workshop with members of the Human Rights Program of the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights of Chile on “Obstacles to criminal prosecution of enforced disappearances”, organized by the Diego Portales University. 5. Luciano Hazan participated in a training to government officials of the province of San Juan, in Argentina, organized by OHCHR (South America Regional Office), on “International obligations and recommendations for planning on human rights”. 6. On 3 August 2021, Luciano Hazan participated in a training organized by the Service of the Criminal Public Defense of the province of Santa Fe (Argentina) on “Enforced disappearance as a specific practice of institutional violence”. 7. Luciano Hazan participated as a speaker in a forum on “Human rights violations in Latin America: Contextual analysis as a methodology for investigation, adjudication and reparation”, organized by IDHEAS (México), the National Commission of Human Right of Mexico and the International Federation of Human Rights (FIDH). 8. On 30 August 2021, in commemoration of the International Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearances, Luciano Hazan presented the WGEID thematic report on Standards and public policies for the investigation of enforced disappearances on an event organized by the Committee for the Prevention of Torture of Chaco Province (Argentina). Aua Bade also participated in this event. 9. On 30 August 2021, Aua Balde delivered a keynote address on “Enforced Disappearances, the nexus between the crime against humanity and a weapon to silence dissent; opportunity for redress for victims and their families” in the context of an event convened by the Zimbabwe Peace Project, marking the International Day for Victims of Enforced Disappearances. 10. On 31 August 2021, Luciano Hazan participated in the commemoration of the International Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearances organized by the Movement for our Disappeared in Mexico. 64
