Other joint letter and reply 131. On 9 August 2021, the Working Group transmitted, jointly with other special procedure mechanisms, another letter about the adoption and implementation of the Prevention of Terrorism (Deradicalization from Holding Violent Extremist Religious Ideology) Regulations No. 01 of 2021, which were published in the official gazette on 12 March 2021.43 132. On 11 August 2021, the Government provided a reply to the other joint letter sent on 9 August 2021. Syrian Arab Republic Standard procedure 133. Under its standard procedure, the Working Group transmitted 36 cases to the Government (see annex I). Information from the Government 134. On 30 August 2021, the Government of Turkey transmitted information concerning a case registered under the records of the Syrian Arab Republic, but the information was considered insufficient to clarify the case. Observation 135. The Working Group requests information on the steps taken by the Syrian authorities to determine the fate or whereabouts of the 36 individuals (see annex I). Should their death be confirmed, the Working Group reiterates its request on the steps taken to identify and return the remains to their relatives. 136. The Working Group continues to call on the Syrian authorities to immediately stop and prevent enforced disappearances, search and locate the victims, conduct transparent, independent and effective investigations into these abuses, with a particular emphasis on the reported deaths in custody, hold the perpetrators accountable and provide redress to the families of the disappeared. Tunisia Joint allegation letter 137. On 20 September 2021, the Working Group transmitted, jointly with other special procedure mechanisms, an allegation letter concerning Slimane Bouhafs, a national of Algeria recognized as a refugee in Tunisia who reportedly disappeared on 25 August 2021 in Tunis, before reappearing four days later in a police station in Algiers accused of terrorismrelated crimes in connection with his activism.44 Turkey Urgent procedure 138.
