On 29 September 2019, Mr. El-Baqer was in the premises of Supreme State Security Prosecution, 5th settlement, Cairo governorate to represent his client, the human rights activist and Egyptian blogger Alaa Abdel-Fattah at the investigation. This is when the Prosecution informed him that an arrest warrant has been issued against him under case No. 1356 of the year 2019 - Supreme State Security Prosecution - which is the same case under which his client is accused. Since then, he has been on renewed detention. In August 31 2020, Mr. El-Baqer knew that he was assigned to a new case number 855 of the year 2020, accused of the same old charges. In December 2021, the State Security Misdemeanor Court sentenced him to 4 years in prison
