On November 1, 2018, he was arrested and forcibly disappeared until he appeared on November 21, 2018 in the State Security Prosecution in case No. 1552 of 2018 on charges of joining a terrorist group and receiving money from abroad, and in 2019 he was accused in another case No. 930 of 2019 on charges of joining a terrorist group and spreading False news, and on April 18, 2020, he was accused in a third case No. 571 of 2020 and his name was included in the lists of terrorism. He has been banned from receiving visits since his arrest and suffers from poor conditions of detention. He is currently under trial on Case No. 703 of 2021 in New Cairo (Coordination).
