The victim, 69 years old, was arrested from his office in the Nasr City area on August 19, 2023. He was taken to the National Security headquarters in Abbasiya, blindfolded and completely stripped of his clothes.

Two days later, the victim was brought before the Supreme State Security Prosecution, which ordered his detention for 15 days pending investigations in Case No. 2036 of 2023, Supreme State Security, after which he was transferred to the 10th of Ramadan Prison.

The victim has health conditions, as he suffers from several chronic diseases, as he suffers from high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, and an autoimmune disease. He has 4 stents, and had surgery on the cartilage, neck, plates, and screws. He needs to take more than 20 types of medications periodically, despite the lack of full medical care in the prison.
