The victim, a resident of Dakahlia Governorate, works as a fisherman. He was arrested with one of his colleagues on June 5, 2020 while they were boarding a fishing boat in the Ras Misr area in the Red Sea.

The victim's family says that they have submitted numerous reports to the Public Prosecution and the competent authorities regarding his disappearance since the date of his arrest and the lack of knowledge of any information about his place of detention, but no response has been received.
