The victim was arrested on February 17, 2018, when he was accompanied by a group of his colleagues in Ramses Square in Cairo. He was arrested and detained without disclosing the reason for the arrest, and he was taken to an unknown destination without being brought before any investigating authority yet.

The victim is 26 years old - a student in the fourth year of the Faculty of Engineering - Al-Azhar University. His family took the necessary legal measures, including sending Telegraphs and complaints to the Attorney General, and the Ministry of Interior, which denied his presence.
